Ha, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I haven't decided yet on if I want dragons to exist in that world. Plus, a hoplite would stand even less of a chance against a dragon than a legionary 😉
Thanks, I don't know how well my project is going to be, you know, plot wise and whatnot, but I said I was going to do it back in Oct, so I need to finish it.
I didn't like them, but if you like them fair enough haha, I'm not a fan of the series but as I always say love what you love, it is not for me to dictate the tastes or desires of others.
If you like Eragon and its dragons do so unrepentantly.
Great idea! I'm going to try and make time to get you a Dragon story submission. In the meantime, I thought I'd share my recent article about the Year of the Dragon which has a lot of really shiny treasure! https://www.rediscoveredrealms.com/p/action-the-year-of-the-dragon
Much as I’d like to play, it being DRAGON month and all, I don’t think my difficult-to-categorize project quite fits the guidelines. 🐲
The hero - Skyvior - is the dragon. He is definitely otherworldly (don’t let his initially ‘small’ appearance fool you)…breathes no ordinary fire…experiences a loss… 💔
But, all of the episodes won’t be out by March 23rd. And while Skyvior is a being from beyond Time, he spends many of his episodes in a current-day setting that might not befit the more medieval style it seems like you’re going for? 🏰
Sounds like you gotta stick to your own thing, and you know you could just do your regular dragon thing and not do the prompt, prompt is a guideline. The story doesn't need to be finished, it could run well past the 23rd of March, so long as we all celebrate draconic glory!
Um, my whole series is about dragons.... and I’m in the middle of writing book two but maybe I can find a non-spoilery excerpt? Or I will check my publishing schedule, because an upcoming chapter may fit the bill perfectly. (Makes note to self.)
Sure, if you already have a work in progress or stories or chapters that fit, feel free to submit them after the 23rd, no pressure and no rush. I'll happily share and read them.
Ummm, as to #2 I hadn't thought about it, do what you want? I just want to see what you come up with Sam Rake, we've had stories without dialogue before so feel free.

But a Hoplite of the Lionsguard could make short work of one dude, they've an awesome name to go together with their badassery.
But okay, if there are no dragons screw dragons, focus on what you've currently got bro. Hyborian Age doesn't have dragons and it still rocks.
To write a good dragon, someplace inside, you must be a dragon.
Few would dare to feel it.
Hahaha there's truth there
Would you accept robotic or mechanical dragons, or metaphorical "dragon" types?
Counts, as those sound like dragons to me. I love the idea way to think outside the box mon ami!
I want to, but I have another project. I love dragons, I don't know what to do lol.
Focus on your own project Harold, dragons can wait.

Makes sense, and I do get it. Plot is always a tricky thing to weave.
Oh, come on. The dragons in Eragon weren't that bad at all!

Thanks and checking it out! I'm only at the start of your essay but ouah you have some great images in there, did you draw them?

If you’d like to take a peek at it anyway, The Lightscript Legends Episode 2 just came out today: https://ajsky.substack.com/p/lightscript-legends-episode-2
I’ll be watching to see what you word warriors with more-categorizable stories create!

Oh! I'm sorry. I thought for this particular collection it had to fit the prompts. Thanks!
Nah, the prompt is for those who want it, and for short-stories mostly. The event is more important I think than the prompt.
In case my logo and the title of my Substack weren't an obvious enough giveaway...dragons make AJ SO HAPPY!!!!!
Hahahaha yep, I guessed as much.

Thanks! I have just the chapter in mind and it will be out before the 23rd!
Awesome. Dragons. Are. Awesome.
Two questions:
1. For a Warrior Wednesday entry, can we do a story from the dragon's POV?
2. Does the non-human character for WW need dialogue?
Oh please do! That'd be mega cool!
Ummm, as to #2 I hadn't thought about it, do what you want? I just want to see what you come up with Sam Rake, we've had stories without dialogue before so feel free.
Splendid. One dragon, coming up.
Hahaha sure
A Dwarven team of expert dragon hunters... yeah that sounds like something from Ixonia.
Awesome!
Love dragons… loved Dragonslayer… can’t wait to read the stories people come up with. So fun!
Yep same! X) Dragonslayer was an awesome movie! And yeah this could be great fun.
