Feudalism is dead. Or so people say, but it has returned in a manner of speaking thanks in no part to the mega-corporations which operate no differently. Actually they operate more cruelly than any robber-baron ever did, and with communism and globalism in support of their nonsense (globalism & communism being at their core a more murderous neo-feudalistic ideology) things are dire.
If you're going to be loyal, it's best to be loyal to someone or something which has treated you kindly in some way. People who do you wrong aren't worth that.
Speaking of entering a Neo-Medieval/Neo-Feudal world. There Youtube channel Pilgrims Pass has an excellent video talking about the failure of Nationalism & Globalism and how, what he calls, Neo-Medievalism is the world we are entering with private corporations and private families and private militaries growing in strength to rival the nation-state.
I must admit that I don’t agree with him on that front, I’m friendly with him nice guy but I don’t think we’re entering neo-medievalism and I don’t think the corporations are bringing in private militaries as of yet. I have the view that we’re entering a ‘neo-nationalist’ age.
The standards you are expressing are very high. But they are the only ones worth living or dying for. Like Hector on the walls of Troy. Thanks for writing that. It's very nice.
Thanks, tbh I don’t have very high standards personally, I’ve had employers tell me they’d don’t like me much but I’ve clung to them because they paid. I’ve had one outright dislike me and complaining for me and I stuck to it for 7 years until finally it made sense to move on and I did that for grad school.
I think in my case, I gotta learn to have higher standards, so that this essay is a pointed criticism of myself.
Well, I'm way behind you. But I think having high standards is a starting point; perfection is a path. You know better than I how low the standards are around us. People are no longer fighting for what matters, but just to matter more. Your article sets a priority. I like that. :)
Thanks, and yeah gotta start setting more priorities/goals and work towards them. My hope is that next job I have will be in the wilderness somewhere maybe in plumbing or something.

If you expect loyalty be kind and decent to people! Thanks Brothers! Wonderful essay!
Glad you liked it and you're always welcome!
