That's good, I'm glad to have reminded you of that, I love dusty old tomes in the back of libraries, they are the source of greatest joy.
I didn't have White in mind when writing but now see it! That's quite some compliment, maybe there is some influence by him over this story now that I think about it. His Once & Future King is a seminal work, and an English classic of the 40s.
There's a lot of moving parts to this story. A mysterious brigand knight who lives in the woods, one who may yet be a ghost. Young students of mysticism in search of a dear friend and his master who've gone missing. An equally mysterious wandering knight who seeks to find and warn of the menacing Vifombre. A local lord renowned for his clemency and just demeanor, turned bitter by age and the separation of his family, forced to contend not only with the news that the beastly man his father bested may have returned, but with knights from a rival duchy now made guests within his hall.
The makings of a fantastical epic of chivalry, heroism, intrigue, and terror are all here. I'm extremely curious now to see where it goes.
Me too, hahaha I've the culprit already decided upon, I just need to figure out how best to approach Ch2, as I've the last few chapters figured out but not Ch2.
And thanks! The whole idea is for it to be a great tale of chivalry and heroism, intrigue and terror as you pointed out.
I love the mystery woven into this chapter. It also adds depth to chapter 2. Beautiful!
Merci! My hope is to start to reveal or at least hint at the truth behind the mystery in Chapter 3.
Je suis impatiente !
Okay! Ch 3, & Ch 2 de la conte fr juste pour vous X)
Very nice.
I felt as if I had discovered a dusty tome from past centuries hidden away in the library of an ancient monastery. Rich, layered,
I think of T.H. White ,

Really beautiful! I so enjoyed reading this.
Thanks the idea was to write something more in line with Ivanhoe than my usual fare
It's been a short while since I've read high fantasy like this.
The last book was "The King of Elfland's Daughter."
I love the formality of the prose.
And I love the poetry in the story.
