Well said. Very underrated film. One of my childhood favorites. It seems like it's definitely worth a re-watch as there was much more going on there than my child mind was able to pick up on.

Hahahaha I love this movie and yeah there’s a lot going on during it, I’ve done other analysis articles and have plans for plenty more.

Bravo! Bowen is a favorite character! Dragon Heart is a cherished favorite movie!

There are many gems contained therein.

Agreed the whole movie is a treasure trove of gems!

And Bowen is easily one of mine, so that I’ve considered naming one of my kids Bowen someday. I love Dragonheart, it’s in my top 3-4 favourite movies of all times. So glad you love this movie Donn, any chance you might compose a song for it someday?

Hmm,

Just a thought…

As for music, I haven't… yet.

There's a thought….

Recently, I have been rather focused, is I guess the word.

Regardless of What I've been trying to work on these other things keep taking precedence.

I have had some severe cases of mental whiplash lately!

Go to work on a Vampire story and… out comes a Bible commentary article….

Go to work on an Arthurian and out comes Pelagius.

Just today, a piece on tactics for the Zompocalypse and…

That morphed into another thing.

I suspect I might be a bit crazy or something.

Maybe, hahaha tbh I went to work on a poem focused on a battle and it somehow became a Germanic family lineage poem.

Went to work on a Norse-Saga, it became instead a semi-Biblical set of chapters about Norsemen & a Valkyrie fighting Moloch and Golems. So can't judge too much.

"‘Truth is not what you want it to be; it is what it is. And you must bend to its power or live a lie.’" Great quote: lying is not a very good strategy and lying oneself about the situation that actually the subject is in, is the worst.

Absolument vrai, seeing the truth for what it is is very important in life, and is part of thinking with one’s head.

As always, interesting analysis!

The heart makes you act quickly and rashly; the head allows you to consider more subtle means of dealing with a confrontation. Sometimes one is needed, sometimes the other, rarely both.

This "head" vs "heart" thing is a big deal to me, being someone who tends to live too much in my head, in a world constantly telling me to "follow my heart." I've never watched or been interested in Dragonheart, but now I think I have to.

It’s a philosophical moving film, I tend to turn to it always when depressed.
