Henri is plagued by bad luck, it's his default setting hahaha. I have to admit when I was writing this story I was inspired by Tom Builder, from Pillars of the Earth who had even worse luck. So Henri is well and truly screwed for a while.
But what's interesting is that in the first half he's to suffer endlessly because of this then in the second half of the novel his kindness and goodness starts to win people over.
Did they just kill the butcher for resolving the conflict? Did they kill him in front of his own children and henry's sisters?
If so, that's going to get someone in trouble.
