I really enjoyed Tolkien style of the prose.

Thanks, I only wish this story followed his prose even more, and am glad Darkspire does that. You're always too kind Tom.

I'm hooked. Ready to start Chapter 2. Engaging. Thank you for the work. Fantasy that felt real and relatable.

Thanks, this was ironically the second novel I ever wrote in English that was in this manner and style, and I had a great deal of fun back in the day.

Will get to work on editing Chapter 2 as soon as possible X)

A wonderfully engaging tale that captures some of that stylistic feel of Tolkienian fantasy, straddling the line of narrative and historical account. This makes for a strong introduction to this island community - a small church town with small dramas, the kind of place where everyone knows each other and every event will spread as rumor at some point. It helps the small things feel bigger than they are, which in turn paints a picture of quaintness that is soon shown to be quite fragile. I'll be eagerly looking to read more in the future.

Thanks I thought I had replied already to this post guess not hahaha, I appreciate it, I enjoyed writing about the petty desires and jealousies of the locals even as I must admit to feeling pity for Rional for losing two children in so short a period of time.
