And lo, the vengeful quest continues! This chapter had its twists, introduced more important worldbuilding and my always beloved essential exposition segments! The battle between Hrodgar and his once comrade in arms, Alvis, was really enjoyable to read, quite well paced too.
What did you think of Ealdwald fleeing from Valhol?
And thanks a bunch for your perspective glad you liked the world and character bits, the battle was meant to be the climax of this mini-arc of sorts and serves to transition Hrodgar’s journey a little.
The Jarl fleeing is perhaps one of the most intriguing parts, character growth wise. Both from storytelling and storyshowing perspective, this act will be the defining force to shape Ealdwald’s final clash with Hrodgar and Sigewulf.
Nice story. Hope to see more of it. You seem to be split in many directions. Good to get a focus. I say this as much for myself as you. I seem to be splitting out, too. But am resolved in 2024 to stop wasting so much time on sites like this and work to get more stories and maybe even a novel published.
Fair enough, my hope is to write as a go what stories I like and to get a bunch finished. I'm just publishing them here and wherever as I complete the chapters. I used to also do short-stories but I dislike doing them and would rather focus on novels.
I feel a bit overwhelmed here on Substack. Not just your stuff. Too much going on. And to get a personal attack against me for no reason... My time is precious. I don't know how many years I have left. I'm just trying to get some thoughts out there. Not worth all this, though. Best wishes to you, and thanks for the chats.
Not yet, haha I've a bank appointment to get stripe set up as this is a much more complex process herein Canada than previously thought. I'm hoping to have paid options set up on Tuesday.
Thanks for asking though, I appreciate your vote of confidence.
