The Emishi-King is supposed to be an enemy of Himiko-den (i’ve it written in some notes and the unpubbed half-written prologue). Satomine though is half-Emishi (through his mother the half-orphaned daughter of an Emishi farmer).
The hope is to have Satomine be an idealistic youth who sets out to avenge Yoshinobu.
The true nature of the Quest, will be revealed around Ch 3 or so.
