The Rise of Fascism - George Martin & Game of Thrones Most Affected
A very painful essay
Something odd happened a few days ago. Okay, maybe it isn’t that odd;
asked me my opinion about something someone said about George Martin, the writer of Game of Thrones. I must admit that I had hoped not to write another GoT essay, especially since I’ve noticed the rule of diminishing returns since my last GoT essay, and my renowned disinterest in the man and his works. To say I dislike them is to be nice.That being said, while I’ve been very frank since I came out of the closet as a ‘hater’, I’ve not really elected to delve all that deeply into other peoples’ opinions of him. I do have my own serials to write, and several bookclubs, podcasts and books to delve into for you all.
However this time I could not resist. In this case it was because someone by the name of Devon Eriksen made a rather thought-provoking commentary on George Martin’s Game of Thrones and other projects in the world of Westeros.
